In Thursday's non-league outing, the Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) basketball squad edged the visiting Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC), by a count of 2-0.

The Patriots (14-6) will now prepare for their outing against Scotland (Laurinburg, NC). The Fighting Scots go into the non-league outing with a 18-7 record. In their last outing, Scotland held off Lee County (Sanford, NC), 51-36, in a non-league outing.

The Vikings now hold a 10-13 record.
