Independence Knights (Frisco, TX) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Emerson Mavericks (McKinney, TX), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Knights face the Heritage Coyotes (Frisco, TX) in a 5A Region 2 District 10 challenge, on Tuesday, February 21. Independence will attempt to better on its 7-5 season record. The Coyotes enter the challenge with a 11-1 record after their 6-0 league win over Emerson (McKinney, TX).

The Mavericks now have a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lebanon Trail for a 5A Region 2 District 10 challenge on Tuesday, February 21. Emerson will face a Trail Blazers team coming off a 2-0 league loss to Memorial (Frisco, TX). The Trail Blazers record now stands at 5-10.
