Shanley Deacons (Fargo, ND) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Red River Roughriders (Grand Forks, ND), 65-58 in a league bout.

With the victory, Shanley upgrades its record to 5-15 on the campaign. The Deacons travel to Grand Forks Central (Grand Forks, ND) to play the Knights in a AA East bout on Thursday, February 22. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 12-7.

Next up, the Roughriders play the Horace (Horace, ND) in a AA East bout, on Tuesday, February 20. Red River will attempt to upgrade on its 5-16 season record. The come into the bout with a 4-15 record after their 76-71 non-league loss to Williston (Williston, ND).
