The Dowagiac Chieftains (Dowagiac, MI) basketball felled the host Berrien Springs Shamrocks (Berrien Springs, MI), 54-38 in Friday's non-league test.

The Chieftains (12-5) will now prepare for their test against Lakeshore (Stevensville, MI). The Lancers go into the non-league test with a 15-2 record. In their last test, Lakeshore thwarted Central (Battle Creek, MI), 53-36, in a league test.

The Shamrocks now own a 6-11 record. They play next when they travel to Mattawan for a non-league test on Tuesday, February 20. Berrien Springs will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 60-38 league loss to Portage Central (Portage, MI). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-9.
