The Chanute Blue Comets basketball team (Chanute, KS), was nudged 42-39 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Field Kindley Golden Tornado (Coffeyville, KS)
The Golden Tornado now possess a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Fort Scott for a non-league battle on Tuesday, February 20. Field Kindley will confront a Tigers team coming off a 49-27 non-league win over Pittsburg (Pittsburg, KS). The Tigers record now stands at 16-1.
The Blue Comets (5-13) will now prepare for their battle against Independence (Independence, KS). The Bulldogs come into the non-league battle with a 10-7 record. In their last battle, Independence edged Parsons (Parsons, KS), 46-24, in a non-league battle.
