East Grand Rapids Pioneers (Grand Rapids, MI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Northview Wildcats (Grand Rapids, MI), 52-49 in a league bout.

With the victory, East Grand Rapids upgrades its record to 13-6 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Forest Hills Northern (Grand Rapids, MI) to play the Huskies in a Ottawa-Kent - Bronze bout on Tuesday, February 20. The Huskies come into the bout with a record of 13-5.

Next up, the Wildcats play the Byron Center Bulldogs (Byron Center, MI) in a Ottawa-Kent - White bout, on Tuesday, February 20. Northview will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 15-4 record after their 52-26 league win over Forest Hills Central (Grand Rapids, MI).
