Winona Winhawks (Winona, MN) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Mankato West Scarlets (Mankato, MN), 66-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Winona upgrades its record to 18-7 on the campaign. The Winhawks host Red Wing (Red Wing, MN) to confront the Wingers in a AAA Section 1 battle on Tuesday, February 20. The Wingers come into the battle with a record of 8-17. Red Wing won 61-58 in their recent league battle against Austin (Austin, MN)

The Scarlets (10-14) will now prepare for their battle against Mankato East (Mankato, MN). The Cougars come into the AAA Section 2 battle with a 16-8 record. In their last battle, Mankato East was overwhelmed by Mayo (Rochester, MN), 83-51, in a non-league battle.
