The Riggs Governors basketball team (Pierre, SD), was nudged 49-48 in Friday's league battle with the host Mitchell Kernels (Mitchell, SD)
The Kernels now sport a 16-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Roosevelt for a AA battle on Saturday, February 17. Mitchell will battle a Rough Riders team coming off a 54-25 league loss to Washington (Sioux Falls, SD). The Rough Riders record now stands at 3-14.
The Governors (12-6) will now prepare for their battle against Jefferson (Sioux Falls, SD). The Cavaliers come into the AA battle with a 14-4 record. In their last battle, Jefferson edged Marshall (Marshall, MN), 43-41, in a non-league battle.
