Sherwood Bowmen (Sherwood, OR) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Newberg Tigers (Newberg, OR), 53-39 in a league bout.

With the win, Sherwood upgrades its record to 13-9 on the season. The Bowmen host Glencoe (Hillsboro, OR) to play the Crimson Tide in a 6A Pacific bout on Tuesday, February 20. The Crimson Tide go into the bout with a record of 12-10. Glencoe won 59-30 in their recent league bout against Century (Hillsboro, OR)

Next up, the Tigers play the Century Jaguars (Hillsboro, OR) in a 6A Pacific bout, on Tuesday, February 20. Newberg will attempt to upgrade on its 9-13 season record. The Jaguars go into the bout with a 6-16 record after their 59-30 league loss to Glencoe (Hillsboro, OR).
