Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Miyamura Patriots (Gallup, NM), 41-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Shiprock upgrades its record to 10-9 on the season. The Chieftains travel to Northwest (Shiprock, NM) to play the Falcons in a non-league bout on Monday, February 19. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Patriots play the Aztec Tigers (Aztec, NM) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 20. Miyamura will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 5-16 record after their 67-5 non-league loss to Gallup (Gallup, NM).
