The Alamo Navajo Cougars basketball team scored 57 points and held the visiting Hondo Valley Eagles to 30 in the Cougars league triumph on Thursday.
The Cougars now sport a 14-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Corona for a A District 3 contest on Friday, February 18. Alamo Navajo will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 33-29 league win over Carrizozo (Carrizozo, NM). The Cardinals record now stands at 3-7.
The Eagles (1-16) will now prepare for their contest against Mountainair (Mountainair, NM). The Mustangs go into the non-league bout with a 9-10 record. In their last bout, Mountainair overwhelmed Carrizozo (Carrizozo, NM), 50-36, in a league bout.
