The Akiachak Huskies tipped the visiting Akiak Thunderbolts basketball team by a final score of 49-43 in Friday's league game.
In their next game, the Huskies face the Kalskag Grizzly Bears (Upper Kalskag, AK) in a 1A Greater Kuskokwim game, on Friday, February 17. Akiachak will attempt to move on its 8-4 season record. The Grizzly Bears enter the game with a 3-3 record after their 51-21 non-league loss to Nelson Island (Toksook Bay, AK).
With the defeat, Akiak moves to 2-9 on the year.
