The Royal Valley Panthers (Hoyt, KS) basketball nipped the visiting Hiawatha Red Hawks (Hiawatha, KS), 46-42 in Friday's non-league test.
The Panthers (4-15) will now prepare for their test against Silver Lake (Silver Lake, KS). The Eagles go into the non-league test with a 17-1 record. In their last test, Silver Lake got by Rock Creek (St. George, KS), 59-37, in a non-league test.
The Red Hawks now own a 11-8 record. They play next when they travel to Sabetha for a Big Seven test on Tuesday, February 21. Hiawatha will encounter a Bluejays squad coming off a 31-21 non-league win over Holton (Holton, KS). The Bluejays record now stands at 12-7.
