Mountainair Mustangs (Mountainair, NM) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Hondo Valley Eagles (Hondo, NM), 46-29 in a league bout.

With the win, Mountainair upgrades its record to 6-13 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Alamo Navajo (Magdalena, NM) to play the Cougars in a A District 3 bout on Saturday, February 18. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 19-6. Alamo Navajo won 77-24 in their recent league bout against Carrizozo (Carrizozo, NM)

Next up, the Eagles play the Mountainair Mustangs (Mountainair, NM) in a A District 3 bout, on Monday, February 20. Hondo Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 4-13 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 6-14 record after their 73-30 league loss to Alamo Navajo (Magdalena, NM).
