In Friday's league outing, the Orono Spartans (Long Lake, MN) basketball squad edged the visiting Waconia Wildcats (Waconia, MN), by a count of 57-55.

The Spartans (13-11) will now prepare for their outing against Jefferson (Bloomington, MN). The Jaguars go into the AAAA Section 3 outing with a 10-14 record. In their last outing, Jefferson held off Park (Cottage Grove, MN), 43-34, in a league outing.

The Wildcats now hold a 6-18 record. They play next when they host Benilde-St. Margaret's for a non-league outing on Tuesday, February 21. Waconia will clash with a Red Knights squad coming off a 82-63 non-league win over Chanhassen (Chanhassen, MN). The Red Knights record now stands at 18-6.
