Newhalen Malamutes (Newhalen, AK) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Dillingham Wolverines (Dillingham, AK), 51-25 in a non-league game.

In their next game, the Malamutes face the Kalskag Grizzly Bears (Upper Kalskag, AK) in a non-league game, on Thursday, February 22. Newhalen will attempt to move on its 21-0 season record. The Grizzly Bears enter the game with a 6-7 record after their 54-15 league win over Tuluksak (Tuluksak, AK).

With the defeat, Dillingham moves to 5-5 on the year.
