In Monday's league contest, the visiting L'Anse Purple Hornets basketball team scored a good 62-53 triumph over the Jeffers Jets.

The Purple Hornets (12-5) will now prepare for their contest against Chassell (Chassell, MI). The Panthers go into the Copper Mountain contest with a 3-15 record. In their last contest, Chassell was toppled by Baraga (Baraga, MI), 54-22, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Jets confront the Calumet Copper Kings (Calumet, MI) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, February 18. Jeffers will attempt to improve on its 5-11 season record. The Copper Kings come into the challenge with a 12-6 record after their 48-37 league win over West Iron County (Iron River, MI).
