Alaska High School Basketball - Nelson Island topples Chaputnguak

In Saturday's non-league outing, the Nelson Island Islanders (Toksook Bay, AK) basketball squad beat the host Chaputnguak Shaman (Chefornak, AK), by a margin of 49-40.
The Islanders (17-3) will now prepare for their outing against Ayaprun (Newtok, AK). The Jaegers go into the non-league outing with a 0-9 record. In their last outing, Ayaprun was topped by Nelson Island (Toksook Bay, AK), 86-32, in a league outing.
The Shaman now own a 7-5 record. They play next when they travel to Chief Paul Memorial for a non-league bout on Saturday, March 4. Chaputnguak will play a Falcons squad coming off a 83-70 non-league win over Lewis Angapak (Tuntutuliak, AK). The Falcons record now stands at 8-0.
