Mountain View Yellowjackets (Mountain View, AR) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), 53-42 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Mountain View upgrades its record to 21-7 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Rivercrest (Wilson, AR) to play the Colts in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 22. The Colts come into the bout with a record of 5-15. Rivercrest won 52-49 in their recent league bout against Harrisburg (Harrisburg, AR)

Next up, the Greyhounds play the Corning Bobcats (Corning, AR) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 23. Newport will attempt to upgrade on its 13-11 season record. The Bobcats come into the bout with a 9-9 record after their 70-48 non-league loss to Rector (Rector, AR).
