The Gabriel Richard Fighting Irish (Ann Arbor, MI) basketball knocked off the visiting Mercy Marlins (Farmington Hills, MI), 41-27 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Fighting Irish (18-3) will now prepare for their test against Lutheran North (Macomb, MI). The Mustangs go into the Catholic C-D D test with a 13-4 record. In their last test, Lutheran North went down by Bishop Foley (Madison Heights, MI), 36-26, in a non-league test.
The Marlins now own a 17-3 record. They play next when they host Cranbrook Kingswood for a non-league test on Tuesday, February 21. Mercy will encounter a Cranes squad coming off a 41-31 non-league loss to University Liggett (Grosse Pointe Woods, MI). The Cranes record now stands at 7-12.
