In Tuesday's league test, the Lafayette Lions (Lafayette, LA) basketball squad knocked off the visiting New Iberia Yellowjackets (New Iberia, LA), by a score of 52-42.
Next, the Lions encounter the Sulphur Golden Tors (Sulphur, LA) in a 5A District 3 test, on Friday, February 21. Lafayette will attempt to improve on its 21-15 season record. The Golden Tors come into the test with a 30-6 record after their 47-34 league win over Barbe (Lake Charles, LA).
The Yellowjackets (14-19) will now prepare for their test against Southside (Youngsville, LA). The Sharks come into the 5A District 3 test with a 26-16 record. In their last test, Southside beat Carencro (Lafayette, LA), 36-28, in a league test.
