California High School Softball - Hawthorne Math & Science Academy knocked off by St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy

February 18, 2025: Downey, CA 90242

The St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors overwhelmed the visiting Hawthorne Math & Science Academy The Aviators softball squad by a count of 16-7 in Tuesday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Warriors meet the Lincoln Tigers (Los Angeles, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 22. St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-0 season record.

The The Aviators (0-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Animo Venice (Los Angeles, CA). The Pirates go into the non-league challenge with a 0-0 record.

Coaches summary

Game Summary

1st game Jitters caused the Warriors to stumble in the beginning but they were able to settle down. Solid pitching by Senior Emily Salazar and power by Freshman Aaliyah Medina gave the Warriors a great start to the 2025 season.
