Pembroke Spartans (Pembroke, NH) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Merrimack Valley The Pride (Penacook, NH), 56-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Pembroke upgrades its record to 12-4 on the season. The Spartans host Sanborn Regional (Kingston, NH) to clash with the Indians in a Division II bout on Friday, February 4. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 11-3. Sanborn Regional lost 67-44 in their recent league bout against Pelham (Pelham, NH)

Next up, the The Pride clash with the Oyster River Bobcats (Durham, NH) in a Division II bout, on Thursday, February 3. Merrimack Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 5-9 record after their 50-35 league win over Manchester West (Manchester, NH).
