Connecticut High School Basketball - Ansonia trounces Derby

The Ansonia Chargers (Ansonia, CT) basketball crushed the visiting Derby Red Raiders (Derby, CT), 84-58 in Thursday's league test.
The Chargers (8-7) will now prepare for their test against Woodland Regional (Beacon Falls, CT). The Hawks go into the Naugatuck Valley - Copper test with a 3-13 record. In their last test, Woodland Regional was trounced by Nonnewaug (Woodbury, CT), 65-46, in a non-league test.
The Red Raiders now own a 0-15 record. They play next when they travel to Seymour for a Naugatuck Valley - Copper test on Tuesday, February 7. Derby will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 51-35 league win over Oxford (Oxford, CT). The Wildcats record now stands at 11-5.
