The L'Anse Purple Hornets basketball team (L'Anse, MI), was nudged 55-50 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Baraga Vikings (Baraga, MI)

The Vikings now possess a 4-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Republic-Michigamme for a Copper Mountain - Copper County battle on Tuesday, February 7. Baraga will battle a Hawks team coming off a 55-33 non-league loss to Lake Linden-Hubbell (Lake Linden, MI). The Hawks record now stands at 3-8.

The Purple Hornets (3-10) will now prepare for their battle against West Iron County (Iron River, MI). The Wykons come into the Western Peninsula battle with a 0-15 record. In their last battle, West Iron County was nudged by Wright (Ironwood, MI), 61-50, in a non-league outing.
