The Cooper Cougars basketball team (Abilene, TX), dropped 64-44 in Thursday's league battle with the host Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX)
The Plainsmen now possess a 21-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lubbock for a 5A Region I District 4 battle on Tuesday, February 7. Monterey will confront a Westerners team coming off a 43-30 league loss to Cooper (Abilene, TX). The Westerners record now stands at 4-26.
The Cougars (15-11) will now prepare for their battle against Lubbock (Lubbock, TX). The Westerners come into the 5A Region I District 4 battle with a 4-25 record. In their last battle, Lubbock beat Wylie (Abilene, TX), 52-50, in a league battle.
