New Mexico High School Basketball - Crownpoint tops Tohatchi

Crownpoint Eagles (Crownpoint, NM) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM), 78-69 in a league bout.
With the victory, Crownpoint upgrades its record to 16-5 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Zuni (Zuni, NM) to play the Thunderbirds in a 3A District 1 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Thunderbirds come into the bout with a record of 7-11. Zuni lost 68-35 in their recent league battle against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM)
The Cougars (13-9) will now prepare for their battle against Thoreau (Thoreau, NM). The Hawks come into the 3A District 1 battle with a 6-15 record. In their last battle, Thoreau was toppled by Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM), 69-45, in a league battle.
