East Wake Academy Eagles (Zebulon, NC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting NCSSM: Durham Unicorns (Durham, NC), 72-58 in a league bout.

With the win, East Wake Academy upgrades its record to 7-16 on the season. The Eagles travel to Research Triangle (Research Triangle Park, NC) to play the Raptors in a 1A/2A Conference 12 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Raptors go into the bout with a record of 4-18. Research Triangle lost 70-42 in their recent league bout against Franklin Academy (Wake Forest, NC)

Next up, the Unicorns play the Cresset Christian Academy Eagles (Durham, NC) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 4. NCSSM: Durham will attempt to upgrade on its 7-12 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 5-12 record after their 59-46 non-league win over Bradford Academy (Mebane, NC).
