Estacado Matadors (Lubbock, TX) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Lake View Chiefs (San Angelo, TX), 2-0 in a league bout.

With the victory, Estacado upgrades its record to 18-15 on the campaign. The Matadors travel to Levelland (Levelland, TX) to play the Lobos in a 4A Region I District 5 bout on Friday, February 3. The Lobos come into the bout with a record of 13-14. Levelland lost 61-60 in their recent league bout against Sweetwater (Sweetwater, TX)

Next up, the Chiefs play the Big Spring Steers (Big Spring, TX) in a 4A Region I District 5 bout, on Friday, February 3. Lake View will attempt to upgrade on its 6-21 season record. The Steers come into the bout with a 6-17 record after their 47-34 league loss to Snyder (Snyder, TX).
