Washington County Bulldogs (Chatom, AL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Fruitdale Pirates (Fruitdale, AL), 51-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Washington County upgrades its record to 4-7 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Citronelle (Citronelle, AL) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Friday, February 3. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 8-12. Citronelle lost 50-43 in their recent non-league bout against Rain (Mobile, AL)

Next up, the Pirates play the Southern Choctaw Indians (Gilbertown, AL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 3. Fruitdale will attempt to upgrade on its 3-16 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 5-4 record after their 44-39 league win over Millry (Millry, AL).
