IMG Academy Ascenders (Bradenton, FL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Sunrise Christian Academy Buffaloes (Bel Aire, KS), 59-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, IMG Academy upgrades its record to 18-5 on the season. The Ascenders host Legacy Early College (Greenville, SC) to play the Lions in a Freelance bout on Friday, February 3. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 11-6. Legacy Early College lost 64-61 in their recent non-league bout against Wasatch Academy (Mt. Pleasant, UT)

Next up, the Buffaloes play the Huntington Prep Irish (Huntington, WV) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 9. Sunrise Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 12-7 season record.
