Pine River-Backus Tigers (Pine River, MN) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Kelliher/Northome Mustangs (Northome, MN), 74-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Pine River-Backus upgrades its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Upsala (Upsala, MN) to play the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 4. The Cardinals come into the bout with a record of 3-13. Upsala lost 55-37 in their recent league bout against Swanville (Swanville, MN)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers (Cass Lake, MN) in a A Section 8 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Kelliher/Northome will attempt to upgrade on its 2-12 season record.
