The Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks basketball team scored 65 points and held the visiting Kingston Tigers to 63 in the Goldbacks league triumph on Thursday.

The Goldbacks now sport a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Niskayuna for a non-league contest on Sunday, February 5. Newburgh Free Academy will meet a Silver Warriors team coming off a 53-52 non-league win over Troy (Troy, NY). The Silver Warriors record now stands at 7-9.

The Tigers (9-4) will now prepare for their contest against Monroe-Woodbury (Central Valley, NY). The Crusaders enter the Section 9 Orange County I contest with a 9-6 record. In their last contest, Monroe-Woodbury was nudged by Middletown (Middletown, NY), 68-52, in a league contest.
