Magdalena Steers (Magdalena, NM) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Quemado Eagles (Quemado, NM), 66-17 in a league bout.

With the victory, Magdalena upgrades its record to 21-0 on the campaign. The Steers host Reserve (Reserve, NM) to play the Mountaineers in a A District 2 bout on Saturday, February 4. The Mountaineers come into the bout with a record of 4-16. Reserve lost 62-20 in their recent league bout against Cliff (Cliff, NM)

Next up, the Eagles play the Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers (Las Cruces, NM) in a A District 2 bout, on Saturday, February 4. Quemado will attempt to upgrade on its 10-10 season record. The SonBlazers come into the bout with a 10-7 record after their 62-42 league win over Animas (Animas, NM).
