Indiana High School Basketball - Yorktown holds off Pendleton Heights

Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Yorktown Tigers (Yorktown, IN) and the host Pendleton Heights Arabians (Pendleton, IN), saw Yorktown's basketball squad hold off Pendleton Heights by a tally of 55-49.
With the victory, Yorktown improves its record to 13-5 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Jay County (Portland, IN) to confront the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 11. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 7-8. Jay County won 55-48 in their recent non-league challenge against Northeastern (Fountain City, IN)
Next up, the Arabians confront the Muncie Central Bearcats (Muncie, IN) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Pendleton Heights will attempt to improve on its 5-13 season record. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a 10-6 record after their 61-47 non-league win over Fort Wayne South Side (Fort Wayne, IN).
Fourth Quarter
Another slow start put the Arabians in a hole that they almost climbed out of. The game was just too short to get that win accomplished. Turnovers doomed tha Arabians again as 10 more turnovers by PHHS provided 20 extra points for Yorktown. Leading in the scoring column for the Arabians was Josiah Gustin with 15 points. Isaac Wilson, Aaron Cookston and Evan Mozingo each scored 7. Caden Sims hit for 5, Brayden Kanitz with 4, Canon Cook with 3, and Reese Caplinger with 1.
