Menominee Indian Eagles (Keshena, WI) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Amherst Falcons (Amherst, WI), 61-57 in a league bout.

With the victory, Menominee Indian upgrades its record to 10-9 on the campaign. The Eagles host Wittenberg-Birnamwood (Wittenberg, WI) to play the Chargers in a Central Wisconsin - East bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Chargers come into the bout with a record of 16-3. Wittenberg-Birnamwood won 68-38 in their recent non-league bout against Manawa (Manawa, WI)

Next up, the Falcons play the Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds (Iola, WI) in a Central Wisconsin - East bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Amherst will attempt to upgrade on its 8-10 season record. The Thunderbirds come into the bout with a 13-4 record after their 50-43 league win over Weyauwega-Fremont (Weyauwega, WI).
