The Beaver Falls Tigers basketball team (Beaver Falls, PA), was overwhelmed 60-39 in Thursday's league battle with the host Laurel Spartan (New Castle, PA)

The Spartan now possess a 15-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Freedom Area for a non-league battle on Saturday, February 4. Laurel will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 65-32 league win over Rochester (Rochester, PA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 14-3.

The Tigers (5-8) will now prepare for their battle against Ellwood City (Ellwood City, PA). The Wolverine come into the WPIAL 3A 1 battle with a 8-12 record. In their last battle, Ellwood City was overwhelmed by Mohawk Area (Bessemer, PA), 51-40, in a league battle.
