Madison East Purgolders (Madison, WI) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Beloit Memorial Purple Knights (Beloit, WI), 60-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Madison East upgrades its record to 5-12 on the season. The Purgolders host Verona (Verona, WI) to play the Wildcats in a Big Eight bout on Friday, February 10. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 13-2. Verona won 70-29 in their recent league bout against Madison Memorial (Madison, WI)

Next up, the Purple Knights play the Middleton Cardinals (Middleton, WI) in a Big Eight bout, on Saturday, February 4. Beloit Memorial will attempt to upgrade on its 3-15 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 10-7 record after their 65-34 league win over Janesville Parker (Janesville, WI).
