Clare Pioneers (Clare, MI) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Pinconning Spartans (Pinconning, MI), 70-16 in a league bout.

With the victory, Clare upgrades its record to 10-7 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Chippewa Hills (Remus, MI) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 3-13. Chippewa Hills lost 50-17 in their recent league bout against Kent City (Kent City, MI)

Next up, the Spartans play the Houghton Lake Bobcats (Houghton Lake, MI) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 6. Pinconning will attempt to upgrade on its 0-16 season record. The Bobcats come into the bout with a 5-9 record after their 54-42 league win over Roscommon (Roscommon, MI).
