South Point Pointers (South Point, OH) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Dawson-Bryant Hornets (Coal Grove, OH), 30-20 in a league bout.

With the win, South Point upgrades its record to 9-9 on the season. The Pointers host Belpre (Belpre, OH) to play the Golden Eagles in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 15. The Golden Eagles go into the bout with a record of 3-18.

Next up, the Hornets play the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes (Nelsonville, OH) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 18. Dawson-Bryant will attempt to upgrade on its 11-11 season record. The Buckeyes go into the bout with a 17-5 record after their 70-59 league win over Meigs (Pomeroy, OH).
