In Thursday's non-league outing, the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks (Waverly, IA) basketball squad felled the visiting Denver Cyclones (Denver, IA), by a margin of 49-33.

The Go-Hawks (13-5) will now prepare for their outing against Crestwood (Cresco, IA). The Cadets go into the Northeast Iowa outing with a 7-12 record. In their last outing, Crestwood thwarted Charles City (Charles City, IA), 73-37, in a non-league outing.

The Cyclones now own a 7-11 record. They play next when they travel to Hudson for a North Iowa Cedar - East outing on Friday, February 3. Denver will clash with a Pirates squad coming off a 57-41 league loss to Aplington-Parkersburg (Parkersburg, IA). The Pirates record now stands at 13-6.
