In Thursday's league outing, the Hazleton Area Cougars (Hazleton, PA) basketball squad beat the host Wilkes-Barre (Wilkes-Barre, PA), by a count of 52-39.
The Cougars (15-5) will now prepare for their outing against Wyoming Valley West (Plymouth, PA). The Spartans go into the Wyoming Valley 1 outing with a 7-2 record. In their last outing, Wyoming Valley West defeated Berwick (Berwick, PA), 51-36, in a league outing.
