In Thursday's non-league outing, the Verona Hillbillies (Verona, NJ) basketball squad edged the visiting Payne Tech Lions (Newark, NJ), by a count of 46-45.
The Hillbillies (13-4) will now prepare for their outing against East Side (Newark, NJ). The Red Raiders go into the non-league outing with a 6-7 record. In their last outing, East Side was tipped by Millburn (Millburn, NJ), 51-39, in a non-league outing.
The Lions now hold a 1-12 record. They play next when they host Glen Ridge for a non-league outing on Tuesday, February 7. Payne Tech will clash with a Ridgers squad coming off a 66-32 non-league loss to Immaculate Conception (Montclair, NJ). The Ridgers record now stands at 17-1.
