Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA), 39-32 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Staunton River upgrades its record to 3-14 on the season. The Golden Eagles travel to Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA) to clash with the Cavaliers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a record of 7-10. Lord Botetourt lost 65-46 in their recent non-league bout against Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA)

Next up, the Terriers clash with the Northside Vikings (Roanoke, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 3. William Byrd will attempt to upgrade on its 13-5 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 17-1 record after their 60-26 non-league win over Staunton River (Moneta, VA).
