Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Pine Raiders (Franklinton, LA) and the visiting Albany Hornets (Albany, LA), saw Pine's basketball squad hold off Albany by a tally of 44-38.

With the victory, Pine improves its record to 16-13 on the campaign. The Raiders host Slidell (Slidell, LA) to confront the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Monday, February 5. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 22-9. Slidell won 84-52 in their recent league challenge against Covington (Covington, LA)

Next up, the Hornets confront the Bogalusa Lumberjacks (Bogalusa, LA) in a 3A District 7 challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Albany will attempt to improve on its 19-10 season record. The Lumberjacks come into the challenge with a 3-15 record after their 62-36 non-league loss to St. Helena College and Career Academy (Greensburg, LA).
