Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Alcona Tigers (Lincoln, MI) and the host Rogers City Hurons (Rogers City, MI), saw Alcona's basketball squad hold off Rogers City by a tally of 40-37.

With the victory, Alcona improves its record to 14-4 on the campaign. The Tigers host Oscoda (Oscoda, MI) to play the Owls in a North Star challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Owls come into the challenge with a record of 9-4.

Next up, the Hurons play the Mio-Au Sable Thunderbolts (Mio, MI) in a North Star challenge, on Monday, February 5. Rogers City will attempt to improve on its 3-11 season record. The Thunderbolts come into the challenge with a 7-6 record after their 54-49 league win over Heston Academy (St. Helen, MI).
