Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Amite Warriors (Amite, LA) and the visiting Sumner Cowboys (Kentwood, LA), saw Amite's basketball squad overcome Sumner by a tally of 61-53.

With the victory, Amite improves its record to 10-14 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Booker T. Washington (New Orleans, LA) to confront the Lions in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 3. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 6-20.

Next up, the Cowboys confront the Pine Raiders (Franklinton, LA) in a 3A District 7 challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Sumner will attempt to improve on its 8-23 season record.
