Thurston Colts (Springfield, OR) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Ashland Grizzlies (Ashland, OR), 73-56 in a league bout.

With the win, Thurston upgrades its record to 12-6 on the season. The Colts travel to Churchill (Eugene, OR) to play the Lancers in a 5A Midwestern bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Lancers go into the bout with a record of 5-13. Churchill lost 70-68 in their recent non-league bout against Roseburg (Roseburg, OR)

Next up, the Grizzlies play the Crater Comets (Central Point, OR) in a 5A Midwestern bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Ashland will attempt to upgrade on its 5-13 season record. The Comets go into the bout with a 15-4 record after their 47-41 league win over Springfield (Springfield, OR).
