Fans at Friday's league challenge between the McLoughlin Pioneers (Milton-Freewater, OR) and the visiting Burns Hilanders (Burns, OR), saw McLoughlin's basketball squad knock off Burns by a tally of 56-38.

With the victory, McLoughlin improves its record to 11-6 on the campaign. The Pioneers host Nyssa (Nyssa, OR) to play the Bulldogs in a 3A Eastern Oregon challenge on Saturday, February 3. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 4-15. Nyssa lost 59-48 in their recent league challenge against Umatilla (Umatilla, OR)

Next up, the Hilanders play the Riverside Pirates (Boardman, OR) in a 3A Eastern Oregon challenge, on Saturday, February 3. Burns will attempt to improve on its 12-7 season record. The Pirates come into the challenge with a 19-5 record after their 68-66 league win over Vale (Vale, OR).
