Madison County Red Raiders (Danielsville, GA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Cedar Shoals Jaguars (Athens, GA), 61-56 in a league bout.

With the victory, Madison County upgrades its record to 18-6 on the campaign. The Red Raiders travel to Cherokee Bluff (Flowery Branch, GA) to play the Bears in a AAAA Region 8 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 18-6. Cherokee Bluff won 77-76 in their recent league test against Chestatee (Gainesville, GA)

The Jaguars now own a 10-13 record. They play next when they host Warner Robins for a non-league test on Saturday, February 3. Cedar Shoals will encounter a Demons squad coming off a 84-64 league win over Ola (McDonough, GA). The Demons record now stands at 16-6.
